I'm sorry in advance this is so long and rambly. I blocked out all of it until yesterday. I was talking to an old acquaiantance from my home village and all these memories just came flooding back, like an avalanche, and I don't know what to do. I can't tell anybody irl, and even if I did, it feels pointless, far too late.
I grew up in a very small village. It was basically 7 houses and a chapel off the side of the road. Thr priest was a man I'll refer to as Father D. He died 15 years ago when I was 8. Everybody says he was murdered by the local crazy recluse, but that's not the whole truth.
It started the autumn I turned 7 years old. I remember Jennifer's Body came out only a few days before my birthday and I was mad at my parents for not letting me see this movie everybody was talking about. I stormed outside and walked into thw woods by our house because I knew it made them mad when I went by myself.
As I wandered throughthe trees I kept hearing noises and I was starting to get scared. I could still see my house, so I wasn't that far, but I remember there was this weird feeling I was being watched. I grabbed the biggest stick I could find and headed back.
I kept checking my surroundings, and at one point I saw green bushes with a patch of bright yellow in the middle, as if someone took some hay and just shoved it in there. I stepped closer to look and couldn't figure out why it felt so strange. Then I realised it was hair. Then I saw a pair of eyes that had been staring at me the whole time.
The hair moved and I screamed, holding the stick like a sword. What came out of the bushes was a boy around my age, with very messy blonde hair and house clothes. He brushed his hair off his face and hi seyes looked scary as hell. I can't explain, it was like they didn't fit his face.
He said his name was Mihai and that he was Mrs C's grandson. That made no sense, because she had no grandchildren. Mrs C was a creepy old lady who lived two houses down from mine, a shut-in that rarely left her house and never let anybody in. My parents told me that her daughter, her only child, died before I was born. I remember hearing mom let it slip that her daughter "messed with someone she shouldn't have", but at the time I thought it was gangsters from the big towns or something.
Mihai was very weird. There wasn't anything physically weird about him, other than those eyes, and he didn't really know how to talk to people. He said hr made a habit of sneaking out of the house when his grandmother slept. He said he wasn't allowed to be seen by others. I found that phrasing weird even back then. I was scared of Mrs C, so I agreed to keep him secret too.
Over the next few months we would play together and hang out in the woods, maybe 3 or 4 times a week. It was surreal having a friend nobody knew about. In a village as small as mine you don't have many options for friends to choose from, and all my friends at school lived far from me, so I was glad to have Mihai. He was smaller and skinnier than me, but could run really really fast and beat my ass if he wanted to. It was scary how strong he was. We sneaked out at night a few times, but I didn't like it because his eyes looked even creepier inthe dark. But I still liked being friends.
When spring rolled around and we wore t-shirts, I noticed bruises on Mihai's arms. Multiple times I saw red lines around his wrists, and one time he was missing an entire fingernail. He told me not to worry about it, butI obviously did. My first thought was that Mrs C was hurting him. That winter thwrw had been police at my school because a teacher was beaten by her husband, and the thought of Mihai being hurt like that made me terrified.
I thought I had to do something quickly, to save my friend from that crazy old woman. I couldn't go to my parents because then I'd have to admit I had been sneaking out for months, so I went to Father D. He was a very kind man, the way all priests should be.
I found him in the chapel and he was more than glad to sit down and talk with me. I told him about Mihai, how we met, what I knew, the bruises I saw. I remember Father D's face going pale, getting more and more severe the more I spoke. It scared me and I regretted saying anything, when he suddenly put his hand on my shoulder and thanked me for telling him. He said he would go take care of it. I was glad, but then he told me not to meet with Mihai anymore. I wanted to ask why, but he shushed me and said "I will deal with it." I didn't like the way he said "it".
That's where the clear memories end. The rest is all a blur with flashes of images and people talking. I was outside with my parents, looking at Mrs C's house, police cars and the whole village outside. The door was ripped off its hinges and the floor was all red. I heard an officer say that she attacked Father D and fatally stabbed him. I thought, through the shock, that there was way too much blood.
Both of them were dead. By next morning the house was all cleaned up, even the furniture was taken out. Father D's funeral was attended by thr entire village and I cried so hard I threw up. It was my fault, I sent him into that house and nobody had any idea, to this day they don't know.
Mrs C was quietly buried next to her daughter and nobody ever talked about her again. If I tried, I'd be shushed or smacked. Mihai wasn't anywhere to be found, and as far as anyone knew, he didn't exist. I was the only one who knew about him, and then he was gone forever.

This happened a few years ago at a gas station. I didnt want to stop at a gas station in the middle of nowhere especially not at night but I needed to pee really badly.
I was already on edge when I entered the most disgusting bathroom ever. As I washed my hands I looked up at the mirror and there was a little boy standing next to me! I felt my soul leave my body! He made no sound whatsoever when he came in! He was 9 or 10 years old and he was just staring at me with a stupid little deer in the headlights face. Then he asked me for change. When I calmed down I asked him where his parents were and he just kind of shrugged. His clothes were all messed up like he ran through the woods and he stank of sweat.
I awkwardly handed him a 10 lei bill I had in my pocket and he thanked me and trotted inside the gas station. And then he just walked off into the darkness along the side of the road with a bag of chips. I didnt see him when I drove down the same road 5 minutes later.

A few years ago, I was camping with some friends in the woods near our town. We were all settled and starting a fire, when a child appeared. He just kinda emerged from the bushes, forcing himself through them. He looked at us for a second, then he asked if we could give him some of our food. He was really young, blond hair, dirty and dishevelled, but didn't seem to be in distress. If anything, he looked kinda dopey.
One of my friends, who was already pretty drunk, shooed him away saying "begone, foul creature of the woods!" (don't ask). I was about to apologize, when I saw the boy give my friend this vicious glare, then he left, disappearing back into the woods.
The sun went down and we went to sleep in our tents. I don't know at what time, but while it was still dark I woke up to the sounds of footsteps in the grass. At one point they were right next to my head on the other side of the tent wall. I wanted to wake up my friends, but I was scared of being heard. The sounds stopped about 2 minutes later, and I fell asleep despite myself. The next morning, all of our food was gone, from the snacks to the frozen meat patties. We had to cut our trip short.

Throwaway because my siblings know my account and they don't like me talking about our business.
Our grandmother died in 2022 at 90 years old. Her mind started to slip in her late 70s. None of my siblings and I (4 in total) could look after her 24/7 because of our jobs, so we rotated throughout the day. Somebody in the morning, somebody in the afternoon, somebody at night. If you know what people with dementia are like at night, then you will know that even though we loved her more than anything, all of us dreaded night duty.
Sometime in 2017, grandma started talking about this boy who would apparently visit her. She said he would tidy up the house while we slept and would also chat with her. At first we thought it was the dementia, since she always asked us 40 yo men and women how school was going. In her mind we were still her little grandkids.
I began to notice the house was indeed tidier than usual, but stuff would be put in the cupboards in ways my perfectionist brother would never approve.
However, there were other things as well. Random windows would be left open, the TV would be turned on children's channels, and more than once I would find food crumbs in dad's old bedroom. I didn't experience it myself, but my siblings who were on night duty said that, when they tried to sleep, they could hear the floors creaking and doors being opened. When they went to check on grandma, she was either fast asleep or sitting perfectly calm on her bed. Her sundowning stopped almost completely.
One day my sister swore up and down that she felt somebody watching her bed, but was too scared to turn around. We decided to set up cameras around the house. At best it was nothing, or a benevolent ghost; at worst, a straight-up intruder. But before we could do any of that, it all suddenly stopped. Grandma was very upset again, demanding where the boy went, and we had to come up with all sorts of excuses until she eventually forgot him.
We forgot about it ourselves until grandma passed away and we were cleaning up her house. I went into the attic and slowly got to emptying it. When I reached some old furniture in the far back, I discovered a hidden cot: a blanket, pillows, clothes that had been missing, a lantern, rotten food, everything. It was all covered in a thick layer of dust, but at some point somebody lived there. Somebody was living in grandma's house, right above our heads.
It's been years since they left, probably when they heard we wanted to install cameras, so God knows where they are now. Whoever they were they didn't seem to harm grandma in any way, in fact she liked their company, but that does not make it any less terrifying to think about.

I went to the grocery store to get something to munch and it was just me and the cashier there, and as I'm ringing up my things a teen boy a few years younger than me stepped in. He saw me looking at him and smiled in a weird way that's hard to explain and idk it's like the air pressure changed around me. He asked if I had any spare change and stared into my eyes crazy intense. I gave him what I had (more so he would leave me alone) and he thanked me, bought himself a pack of bacon then went outside, opened it, and ate the raw bacon as he walked away. I'm like what just happened. The cashier shook his head and said "yeah, he comes around every few days and basically robs someone"

Hi! This takes place in a semi-rural town in Romania, between the Bihor and Alba counties. On the Eastern edge of town is the "old village" area, with old houses and small plots of farmland, etc. We inherited my in-laws' house, a 2-bedroom with a small veggie garden. My husband and I turned it into a weekend get-away house, where we go to relax.
A few months ago our neighbours, elderly people in their 70s and 80s, started telling us that they've seen somebody around our property during the week when we weren't there. One person said she saw movement through the windows, assuming it to be us, and another claimed to have seen somebody hop the fence at night, but when he went to check with a flashlight, he couldn't see anybody.
We checked ourselves and nothing was missing from the house, everything was where it should be, nor were there any broken locks. We found other things though: windows were open when I know for a fact I closed them before leaving on Sunday. Pillows and blankets were shifted and there were water droplets in the sinks. My husband found taki bags in the trash can, when neither of us eat that crap.
We stayed the weekend as usual and nothing weird happened. Before leaving, my husband set up two cameras, one in the house and one in the garden. The one in the house overlooks the living room. You can't walk around without passing under it because of the layout of the house. The second camera overlooks the front gate and the side of the garden. Even if somebody comes from the back, they still have to pass under the camera to enter through the front door or windows. If they try through the back windows, they'll be seen by the living room camera.
We're heading back to our main home as I'm typing this. What other measures should we take? Has anybody dealt with something similar? I'll keep everyone updated.
Update:
Thank you for all the messages and apologies for taking so long to update. We have not been to the house in few weeks because of what we found out.
Like I said last time, my husband put up cameras. They weren't too high-quality, so we would only get to see what they recorded the next weekend, when we went to the house again. To our shock, the one in the living room was lying on the ground, torn off the wall.
The footage was thankfully still salvageable and we were able to access it. It even captured us as we finished putting the camera up and prepared to leave the house.
We left and then some hours passed. We could see the sun going down through the windows. And then we saw it. The door to the main bedroom was open and through it we could see a man, a whole person, crawling out from under the bed. I have no idea how he fit under there. He had been hiding in our house while we were in it, while we were SLEEPING in that bed. He looked male, a young man or a teenager maybe. He looked up, saw the camera, and took it off the wall with his bare hands, with this blank expression on his face. The outside camera then captured him going out through the window, hopping the fence, and walking into the woods nearby.
I was in complete shock. My husband was shaking. We took the footage to the police immediately and there was a search in the area, but nothing was found. He was long gone. They couldn't find this guy in their records either, nobody knows who he is.
But I guess it's over now. We put up a new camera and put sturdier window locks. A neighbour offered to bless the house and give us one of his guard dogs. I am still anxious about staying there again, but I will try.
Thank you once again for the comments! I still can't believe this happened.

I caught a boy trying to steal from my purse. He ran away before I could yell at him or take a photo. He was about 15 or 16, light blonde hair, deep brown eyes, tanned skin, tall and medium build.

I can't explain this without making myself sound like a weirdo, so here it goes!
I live in a small medium-ish size town. I moved in last year to be closer to my job. I finish work around 5pm every day and I don't have much of a social life, so I spend almost every evening at home.
I noticed my neighbours about 3 months after I moved in. They live in the building across the street from mine, and the way our windows are positioned I can see their whole living room. They almost never pull the curtains shut. I don't watch them on purpose or anything creepy like that, but they are just so... weird.
There is 3 of them, two young men and a young woman in their 20s. I can't tell if they're a polycule or just really affectionate with each-other. The woman works at a bar in town, I think. One of the men seems to be a student and the other guy is... there. I don't think he's human. I have nothing against supernatural people, I have supernatural friends. I just can't figure him out.
More than once I saw him take out a bag of minced meat from the fridge and eat it raw. Just break off chunks of it and eat it like dough, ice and all. I noticed he does it in secret, because the others scold him when they catch him. If he's home alone, this guy will be completely still. Either sitting down or standing upright, he will do absolutely nothing, not move a single muscle, and stare dead-eyed into space. This can go on for hours at a time, it's so freaky.
The other guy, the student, is on the same level of weirdness. While the meat guy has more frequent weird moments, when the student does something it takes the cake. The girl is the most normal one.
One time, when I got home, I saw him in the middle of a screaming argument on the phone with somebody. I could perfectly read curse words on his lips. It was getting so heated I thought he would start throwing things, but then he suddenly ended the call, turned on the TV, put on youtube, and started doing the "We're all in this together" dance from Highschool Musical. To calm down, I guess?
Another time he was on the couch with his laptop, several books and a tazer, like the kind police use. After typing for a bit, he picked up the taser and hesitantly zapped his own wrist. He paused for a couple seconds, then put the taser right on his neck, no hesitation. He typed some more on his laptop, then zapped himself a third time, then typed again. I fully expected a fourth zap, but instead he went into the kitchen and took out left-over pizza from a week ago. I think he poured balsamic glaze on it, but I'm not sure. Some sort of dark sauce.
Another time, and I swear on whatever you want this is true, I saw him chase something small around the apartment with an empty pickle jar, and when he finally caught it it was a fetus!!! Like a cross between a human baby and a rat! I almost fell off my windowsill.
I don't know what's going on in there and I don't want to know. I'll try to stop watching them, but it's really hard. I catch glimpses of them going about their apartment and wonder what sort of bullshit I'll see if I linger by the window for long enough.
